George Floyd five years later – level 1

21-05-2025 07:00

George Floyd dies five years ago. Many people want to know if things are better now.

Marc Morial says some things are better, but some are worse. The government stops work about civil rights. People ask for change after Floyd dies. Some companies help, some do not. Diversity means giving a chance to all people. Police learn new things but still need to do better. Police help with problems like sick people or fights at home.

But the work is not finished. Cities try to change the rules because the government is slow. Morial wants a new law to help people with less money.

Difficult words: civil rights (when all people are treated the same and fairly), law (rules).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What steps have cities taken because the government is slow?
