Good news of February – level 2
18-03-2026 07:00
Many good things happened in the world in February.
In Africa, people built a large path for animals to move safely. This helps nature and gives land back to local communities. Also, scientists find more than 16,000 new plants and animals every year. We learn more about our world every day.
New technology helps save whales in the ocean. A new computer system finds whales near ships and tells the captain to move the ship or slow down. This way, the ship doesn’t hit the animal. Other experts use drones to watch blue whales. They want to see how these big animals live and find food.
Clean energy is now cheaper for everyone. Batteries for solar power cost much less than before. Now, we can use the sun to get light at night too. In Europe, new rules stop fashion companies from making too much waste. These companies must pay more money if they hurt the planet.
Difficult words: path (a track for walking), captain (the person who is the leader of a ship or a plane), waste (things which you throw away).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How does the new computer system help ships avoid hitting whales?
