Good news of February – level 3

18-03-2026 07:00

Scientists and communities are making great progress in nature conservation.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, people create a large area for animals to travel safely between parks. This project also helps local groups own their land again after many years. At the same time, experts discover thousands of new species every year, which shows that our planet still has many secrets to share.

New technology is also protecting ocean life from danger. Companies now use special cameras and computer programs to find whales near large ships. This system sends an alert to the crew to prevent accidents. Furthermore, researchers use drones to put cameras on blue whales. This method doesn’t cause stress to the animals and helps us understand how climate change affects their behavior in the wild.

In the energy sector, battery storage is now much cheaper and more efficient. This change allows businesses to use solar power even during the night. Also, the European Union introduces new rules for the clothing industry to reduce waste. These laws force companies to pay for the environmental damage they cause. This move helps fight the problem of low-quality clothes that people throw away quickly.

Difficult words: conservation (the protection of natural things), species (a group of animals or plants that are the same), efficient (working well without wasting anything).
