Heineken sells less beer – level 2
27-10-2025 15:00
Heineken says it will sell less beer in 2025 because people are buying less.
The company changed its plan again after seeing weak demand in Europe and Latin America. Its boss, Dolf van den Brink, says things will get better when the economy becomes more normal. Even if sales go down, some analysts think the news is not as bad as they expected.
Heineken’s shares grew a little after the report. The company also got a bigger market share in Brazil, Mexico, and Vietnam. It made a bit less money than before, but did better than many thought. Heineken still hopes for a recovery later.
Difficult words: demand (how much people want to buy something), share (a small part of a company which people can buy or sell), recovery (a return to a better or stronger situation).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Which three countries did Heineken gain a larger market share in?
