Helicopter Crash – level 3

17-06-2019 07:00

Last Monday in New York, a helicopter crashed about 11 minutes after take-off when it hit the roof of a 51-storey skyscraper.

Only the pilot died in the crash, and no one else was injured. People are investigating the incident, but Mayor Bill de Blasio said that there is no indication that the crash was an act of terrorism and that there is no ongoing threat to New York City.

The crash started a fire, but people managed to put it out quickly. A large part of mid-town Manhattan including Times Square had to temporarily close.

Difficult words: indication (a sign, a piece of information), threat (danger), temporarily (for a limited time).
