People in India are very angry today. The government wants to build a big dam. They want to connect two rivers.
The government says that the dam will bring water to dry places and help farmers. But water is now coming into villages, homes, and farms. Many people lose their houses. They do not have enough money to build new ones. People stand in the water to protest and ask for help. Nature experts are also worried because the water will hurt trees and tigers in a big park.
The government says that the project is important, but people want to stay on their land.
Difficult words: dam (a strong wall across a river), dry (without rain or water), important (when people need something very much).
