27-01-2022 15:00

Benjamin Alexander is born in the UK in 1983. He has a Jamaican father and a British mother. Alexander works in finance. Then, he becomes a DJ. He is very successful in his job.

Alexander starts skiing six years ago. He can ski well. This month, he qualifies for the Olympic Games in Beijing, China. This means that he is fast enough to ski with the best skiers in the world. He is not the best. He is on the 4722nd place in the world. He is happy that he can go to the Olympics.

Alexander is the first Jamaican skier at the Olympics. His coach is Dudley Stokes. Dudley Stokes is a Jamaican bobsledder. A bobsledder rides a long metal sled on an ice track. Stokes is at the Olympics between 1988 and 1998.

Difficult words: finance (looking after money for a company or government), coach (a person whose job is to train someone in a sport) qualify (to meet the rules to get to do something).
