Man fights to meet his true parents – level 2
29-04-2025 15:00
A boy was born in a Tokyo hospital in 1958, but the staff switched him with another baby. The hospital made a mistake, and he grew up with the wrong family.
As an adult, Egura Satoshi wanted to find his real parents. He asked the Tokyo government for help but got no answers, so he filed a lawsuit. This week, the court said the government must try to find his real family. Satoshi is now 67, and he first had doubts when he was about 30. A DNA test later showed he was not related to his parents. He was searching for his parents for almost 20 years.
Egura says he wants to meet his real parents and any brothers or sisters he might have. But he also says he loves the family that raised him.
Difficult words: staff (people who work in a company or organization), lawsuit (a legal court case), related (belonging to the same family).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What did the DNA test later show about Satoshi’s relationship to the family that raised him?
