Martin Shkreli – level 3

20-09-2017 07:00

Martin Shkreli, a controversial pharma CEO, gained notoriety for hiking the price of lifesaving drugs at his company.

Unrelated to the pricing scandal, he was found guilty of securities fraud, and for offering a $5,000 bounty online for a strand of Hillary Clinton’s hair.

He faces up to 20 years in prison at his sentencing, set for January 16th.

Difficult words: pharma (pharmaceutical – drug-making), notoriety (being well known for doing something bad), strand (some).
