07-09-2026 07:00
Famous football player Lionel Messi decided to stop playing for the Argentina national team.
The 39-year-old superstar said on Instagram that it was a difficult decision, but it was the right time. He played for Argentina for 20 years, scored 125 goals, and played in 207 games. His biggest success was winning the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar. He also won two Copa América titles.
Messi said he gave everything to his team, but now young players need a chance. Messi will continue playing for his club, Inter Miami in the USA, but his international career is now over.
Difficult words: decision (a choice that you make after thinking about different options), success (achieving a good result or reaching a goal you worked hard for).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
