Murderer climbs over prison walls – level 2

12-09-2023 07:00

Prison cameras captured the dramatic escape of a murderer Danilo Cavalcante. He used a ‘crab walk’ technique to climb over two prison walls in Pennsylvania, the United States.

The video shows the 34-year-old prisoner how he placed his hands on one wall and his feet on another. This way he was able to climb upwards. When he got to the roof, he managed to get through barbed wire and scaled even more razor wire. This escape happened only days after he was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his girlfriend in 2021. The police didn’t catch the man yet, and they asked local people to be watchful.

A few months ago, another prisoner used the same method to escape the prison, but the police caught him shortly afterwards. Officials promised to increase security so that such incident can’t happen again.

Difficult words: barbed wire (wire with short sharp ends), razor wire (wire with small sharp blades), life imprisonment (when a prisoner must stay in prison for the rest of his or her life).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What security measures were taken to ensure that such an escape won't happen again?
