OpenAI changes the deal with the Pentagon – level 3

10-03-2026 15:00

The US government recently had a dispute with the AI company Anthropic about how the military could use its technology.

Anthropic didn’t want to give the Pentagon full access to its AI system. Because of this disagreement, the Trump administration ended its cooperation with the company.

Soon after this decision, OpenAI made its own agreement with the Pentagon. However, the deal quickly received criticism from both inside and outside the company. Some people believed OpenAI acted too quickly and tried to take advantage of the situation. In response, CEO Sam Altman said the company would make changes and add more safety measures.

The discussion shows growing use of AI in war. Several technology companies compete to work with the US military on new tools such as autonomous drones. Experts say AI may become an important part of future wars, but many people worry about risks and the possible misuse of powerful technology.

Difficult words: dispute (a serious argument or conflict between people or groups), disagreement (when people have different opinions and do not agree), measures (action taken to deal with a problem).
