Pakistan says no to India match – level 1

10-02-2026 07:00

Pakistan plays in the Cricket World Cup, but it does not play India. The government says yes to the tournament but no to that match. Bangladesh leaves the tournament because it does not feel safe. Scotland joins instead.

Pakistan and India have many problems. They do not play each other often. Pakistan says that it wants to stand with Bangladesh. The cricket group ICC asks Pakistan to think again.

Fans in Pakistan feel sad. They want to see this big match. This game brings many people and much money. Some experts worry that politics hurts world cricket.

Difficult words: tournament (a big sports event with many matches), instead (in place of something else), fan (a person who really likes and supports a team or sport).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

Why did Bangladesh leave the tournament?
