Running for Blind People – level 2

06-11-2017 15:00

A man named Simon was blind since the age of 17. That never stopped him, however, from doing what he likes.

He is going to be the first blind competitor to run unassisted in the New York City Marathon. He will be using new haptic technology which he helped develop. The modern technology vibrates when other runners get close or when there is something ahead of you.

He hopes that it will make people’s lives better.

Difficult words: unassisted (without help from other people), haptic (relating to the sense of touch), develop (create, make).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
