Russia attack Kyiv again – level 2

30-11-2023 07:00

Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, faced the biggest drone attack from Russia on November 25, which left five people injured.

The attack lasted six hours, and it took place on the day marking the Holodomor famine of 1932-33, which took the lives of millions of people. The attack began in the early hours and impacted various Kyiv districts. More attacks came in the morning. Officials reported 911 Russian attacks throughout the week, which killed 19 people and injured 84. Officials said that the attacks were intentional and very destructive.

Ukraine claimed they shot down 74 drones out of 75, later revising the count to 74. Reportedly, Ukraine soldiers shot down 40% of all the Russian drones.

Difficult words: famine (long period without food), intentional (planned), destructive (when something causes great damage).
