Scrap Metal Soldier – level 1

01-07-2021 15:00

World War I ended in 1918. The centenary is coming in 2018. A man wants to mark the centenary. He tells an artist to build a statue.

The artist builds it. The statue is six metres tall. It is a statue of a soldier. The artist makes the statue from scrap metal.

At the moment, you cannot see the statue. It is not in a public place. You can see it later this year.

Difficult words: centenary (100 years after an important event), mark (celebrate), scrap metal (old metal).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
