Space junk – level 2

There is a lot of trash flying around the Earth. It comes from old satellites, rockets, and other broken things. This trash, called space junk, moves very fast and can hit working satellites.
When satellites crash, they make even more trash. Some of it burns when it falls back to Earth, but big pieces can sometimes reach the ground. Scientists and companies are looking for ways to fix this problem. They want to stop making new trash and clean up the old one.
Some use special satellites or lasers to move the junk. They also want to make sure old satellites fall safely. We must keep the space clean if we want to keep using it.
Difficult words: trash (waste or things that people don’t want to use anymore), satellite (a machine that goes around Earth), laser (a strong beam of light).
