Taiwan is good at recycling – level 2
27-01-2026 15:00
Taiwan has a strong recycling system that helps reduce trash. People pay for waste which they cannot recycle, so they try to use less plastic.
Cities put away public trash bins, and special trucks collect waste often. This rule makes people keep their own trash and follow the system.
Private companies collect and sort the waste, and the government supports them with money. Producers and importers pay money because they are also responsible for plastic waste. AI robots sort plastic, metal, and paper, but workers still help with difficult tasks.
Taiwan recycles most plastics, but low quality plastic goes to fire plants. Taiwan shows how rules and technology can work together.
Difficult words: trash (things you do not want and throw away), trash bin (a container where people put trash), importer (a person or company that brings goods into a country from another country).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Why have cities removed public trash bins and rely on special trucks for waste collection?
