Taiwan’s military drills – level 2

20-04-2026 15:00

Taiwan is showing the world how its military stays ready. Recently, the government invited reporters to see a special military exercise.

In one drill, F-16 fighter jets took off in less than six minutes to protect the sky. Taiwan is worried about China’s actions. China pressures the island, but it doesn’t start a real war. To keep safe, Taiwan is building new technology, like smart drones with AI cameras. These drones don’t use any parts from China.

Because China has a much larger army, Taiwan must be very fast and use smart technology. The military wants to stay alert and protect its borders every day.

Difficult words: drill (a military exercise), pressure (to use force to make someone do what you want), alert (when you are checking everything around you so that you can see danger or changes quickly).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What defense measures did Taiwan implement to stay safe despite China’s larger army and ongoing pressure?
