Trump speaks at the United Nations – level 3
26-09-2025 15:00
President Donald Trump used his UN address to criticise the United Nations and its work sharply, calling climate change a con job and accusing Western countries of going to hell over immigration policy.
He joked about a failing teleprompter, then listed his achievements, including his claim to have ended seven un-endable wars early in his term, and complained that the UN didn’t help finalize those deals.
Trump attacked what he called empty UN words, criticised international approaches to migration, and warned that uncontrolled flows of people harmed social services and national life. He ridiculed past climate predictions and labeled parts of the green agenda a scam, urging countries to defend citizens and rethink current policies.
His speech mixed boasts, warnings, and anecdotes about money and management at the UN complex to underline his point that institutions must produce real results instead of rhetoric.
Difficult words: con job (a trick to cheat people and take their money or trust), teleprompter (a machine that shows a speaker their text), finalize (to complete something or make it officially finished), ridicule (to laugh at someone or something in a cruel or unkind way).
