Europe is warming fast – level 1
10-07-2025 07:00
Europe is very hot now. In Germany, it is nearly 40°C. In Spain, it is 43°C. The heat is dangerous.
Two farmers died in a fire in Spain. In France, people go to the hospital. They feel sick from the heat. Some places, such as the Eiffel Tower, must close because it is too hot.
Scientists say that Europe is getting hotter faster than other places. Ice in the Arctic melts, rivers and lakes dry up, the sea gets warm, and the sun makes everything hotter.
People need places to cool down and shade. Even rich countries have problems keeping people safe in this hot weather.
Difficult words: heat (when it is hot outside), melt (to turn into water), shade (a cool place away from the sun).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What changes have scientists observed that show Europe is heating up faster than other regions?
