Germany needs doctors from Latin America – level 2

22-12-2025 15:00

Germany wants doctors from other countries to work in hospitals. The country gives help with homes, visas, and advice, but doctors must learn German and pass exams.

Dr. Freddy Bautista Vanegas comes from Bolivia and works in a Parkinson’s clinic. Patients are happy to meet him. The program also helps Mexico and Colombia, where many students want medical jobs. Germany needs more doctors because many positions are empty.

Each German state has its own rules, so doctors need advice to manage the work. Doctors must get their certificate within two years. The program helps with housing, learning German, and passing tests. Bautista Vanagas studies for his last medical exam and hopes to finish soon.

Difficult words: visa (a paper or stamp which lets a person enter and stay in another country), advice (help from someone about what to do), position (a job or place where someone works).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What exam is Dr. Bautista Vanagas currently studying for in order to complete his certification?
