Posting Zero – level 2
16-01-2026 15:00
The internet feels very loud today, with many ads and repeated videos. At the same time, people post less on social media.
A large study from many countries shows social media use goes down, especially among young people. This trend is called Posting Zero. People still watch posts, but they don’t share their own photos or stories.
One reason is that social media feels too perfect and too businesslike. In the past, people shared simple daily moments. Now, many users feel stress and worry about how others see them. Some also feel bad about posting happy photos when the world has many problems.
Another reason is fake activity online. Many posts and views come from bots, not real people. This makes social media feel less human. Some people hope they can change and feel friendly again.
Difficult words: ad (a message that tries to sell a product or service), bot (a computer program that acts like a person), human (a real person, not a machine).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What term describes the trend of users who continue to view social media posts but stop sharing their own photos or stories?
