Viktor Orbán, the leader of Hungary for 16 years, now lost a very important election. The new winner is Péter Magyar and his Tisza party. They won a landslide, which means they got many more votes than Orbán’s party.
Péter Magyar used to be part of Orbán’s group, but he decided to change things and promised to work more closely with the European Union. This news is very big because Orbán was a close friend of leaders like Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
Many people in Hungary are very happy and excited about the future. They hope the new government will improve the economy and protect people’s rights. It is a historic moment of change for the whole country.
Difficult words: landslide (when one person or party gets many more votes than the others), improve (to make something better than it was before), historic (something very important that people will remember for a long time).
