South Korea will ban dog meat in February 2027. In the past, people eat dog meat stew on hot summer days. It gives them energy.

Today, many people have pets. They love animals, so they do not want to eat dog meat anymore. Most people like the new law. Only old people still visit special markets to eat this traditional food. Many restaurants now sell goat meat instead.

Some old restaurant owners are sad. Their long-time customers will miss this meal. But they know that things are changing. The new law is important for the country.

Difficult words: stew (a meal when you cook meat and vegetables slowly), pet (an animal which you keep at home for fun), customer (a person who buys things from a shop or business).
