In Denmark, more and more parents are keeping their children home from traditional schools. Many neurodivergent children, like 12-year-old Olav, who has autism, find normal classrooms too loud and stressful.

Because schools lack special resources, parents are creating alternative clubs. In these clubs, kids can learn outside by doing practical things, like working on organic farms or building boats, without feeling stressed.

While government officials worry about test scores in reading and math, experts say the school system is old and needs big changes. Parents hope these new groups will give their kids a safe space to grow, feel happy again, and slowly return to learning.

Difficult words: neurodivergent (thinking, learning, or behaving differently from most other people), lack (to not have enough of something, or to be completely without it), test score (a number or mark that shows how well a student did on an exam).
