A car on train tracks – level 1

08-12-2025 15:00

A car is on the train tracks in the Blue Mountains, near Sydney. It is early in the morning, and workers come quickly to the place. The car is on its roof, but the driver gets out and has only small injuries.

Trains do not go between Springwood and Penrith. Buses take people instead. Many people wait, and the trip is slow. Some people feel worried because they need to go to work or school.

Workers try to move the car. They work near strong power lines, so they need to work very carefully. They want to make the train tracks safe again.

Difficult words: injury (harm to the body), power line (a wire which carries electricity), carefully (in a way which shows care and keeps you safe).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

Why must workers take extra care when trying to move the overturned car?
