Berlin aquarium burst – level 2

21-12-2022 07:00

In Berlin, Germany, a big aquarium, cracked and one million liters of water poured onto a road.

The aquarium was part of AquaDom, and a hotel surrounded it. Luckily, the incident happened early in the morning when no people were around. Glass and debris injured two people, and police evacuated around 300 guests and employees at the hotel.

At first, people thought that the aquarium cracked because of low temperatures, but police weren’t were. 1,500 tropical fish were in the tank, and all of them sadly died.

Difficult words: crack (to break), pour (to flow quickly in large amounts), surround (be all around someone or something).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
