Bird flu is a disease. It kills birds. It is not very dangerous for wild birds. It is very dangerous for domestic birds. Domestic birds live on farms. For example, they are chickens, turkeys, or ducks.

Bird flu is in Europe and Asia some months ago. It spreads to the US. Officials first know about bird flu in Indiana. It spreads to Kentucky and Virginia.

Farmers worry. They remember bird flu in 2015. It kills 50 million birds in 15 US states.

Some countries already don’t want meat from Indiana. Farmers must solve the problem quickly. Prices of poultry will probably get higher.

Difficult words: wild (an animal which lives freely and not on a farm), spread (to move around an area), poultry (the meat of chickens, turkeys, and other birds).
