Bomb in Somalia – level 2

23-10-2017 07:00

A truck carrying a bomb exploded near a hotel in Somalia’s capital of Mogadishu. The bomb killed at least 230 people and injured hundreds more. It was the deadliest attack in Somalia’s history.

People blame the al-Shabab extremist group, which is linked to al-Qaida. The organisation has not commented on the attack. The country’s president declared three days of mourning.

Difficult words: blame (say that somebody did something bad), declare (officially say something), mourning (showing sadness).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
