British and French students watch Adolescence – level 2
18-06-2025 07:00
The UK and France want students to watch a British TV show called Adolescence. It is about a 13-year-old boy who is arrested after a classmate dies.
The show talks about problems like anger in boys, knife crime, and bad things on social media. Many people like the show and say it is very real and emotional. Some teachers and parents think it can help students understand these problems. Both countries are worried about violence in schools. They also worry that social media is making teenagers think in a bad way. By showing this TV show, they want students to talk about these problems.
Some people in the UK don’t agree. They think it is not good to show the drama in schools. The creators say the show is not about race but about problems boys face today.
Difficult words: emotional (about a person’s feelings), violence (hurting someone), creator (a person who makes something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
