Canada and Europe want to work closer together – level 1

Canada and Europe want to work closer together

03-11-2026 07:00

Canada and Europe want to work closer together. Many people in Canada prefer to buy things from Europe instead of the United States. Trade with the United States is changing.

European leaders are talking about how to help each other more. They want to share energy, keep prices low, and help students study in different countries. Some big countries in Europe say that the rules are not ready for a special membership. But they still want to be strong friends.

Working together helps both Canada and Europe stay safe, protect their businesses, and keep their people happy.

Difficult words: share (to give a part of something to others, or to use something together), membership (when a country or person belongs to a group, club, or organization), protect (to keep someone or something safe).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What do European leaders want to share, keep low, and help students do?
