Chicken Show at the Zoo – level 2

03-02-2017 07:00

A special exhibit started at a zoo in the Philippines. It celebrates the Chinese New Year.  The Chinese year of the rooster began. The special exhibit shows roosters from all over the world.

The organisers of the show want to remind people that all roosters came from the wild jungle roosters who came from the forest. The organisers hope that the show will inspire people to save the remaining forests.

At the exhibit, you can find our friends with feathers from Japan, England, America, Poland and China, just to name a few. There is also a special giant red rooster from France. He is two and a half feet tall and weighs 15 pounds, and he takes the crown!

This exhibition started at the perfect time. It is the beginning of the celebrations of the year of the rooster.

Difficult words: exhibit (a special show), rooster (a cock, a male, a father of chickens), remaining (what is left), feather (birds have feathers; they do not have hair or fur), take the crown (be the king, win).

You can watch the video news in the Level 3 section.
