The Czech Republic marked 20 years of being part of the European Union with a big event at Prague Castle. They celebrated their membership anniversary with famous people in attendance.

The Czech Prime Minister talked about supporting other countries like Ukraine to join the EU if they meet the requirements. He stressed the importance of being transparent and fair in this process. The Czech President highlighted that EU and NATO memberships were important for the country’s freedom, prosperity, and security.

German President Steinmeier emphasized that Europe should stand together against threats and consider Ukraine as part of Europe. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy expressed his hope that Ukraine would join the EU soon and thanked the Czech Republic for its support.

Difficult words: transparent (honest), highlight (to emphasize something important), prosperity (the conditions of being successful or thriving).
