David Attenborough UN Speech – level 2

02-03-2021 07:00

David Attenborough is an English broadcaster, and he narrated many documentaries about nature. In 2020, he was among the 100 greatest Britons.

In 2019, Attenborough narrated a very popular documentary series for Netflix. Millions of people watched it, and they started to think about the environment and about our planet more.

Last week, Attenborough spoke to the United Nations Council. He said that it was not possible to stop climate change anymore. He said that poor people would have many problems and it could bring wars. He said that in the last 12 months, people learned that they needed to work together. It was the only way to solve global problems.

Difficult words: broadcaster (a person who presents a TV or radio program), narrate (to comment on a documentary or another program on TV or radio), global (something that relates to all the world).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
