Dying Birds – level 2
A study surveyed hundreds of types of birds in the USA and Canada. It found out that nearly a third of birds died from most biomes since 1970. That is almost three billion birds.
According to the magazine Popular Science, today’s extinction rate is around 1,000 times greater than it was before humans.
Difficult words: survey (watch, study), biome (a large group of animals and plants such as the savanna or forest), extinction rate (the speed with which the animals are dying out).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
