Election in Bangladesh – level 2

16-01-2019 07:00

An election happened on Sunday, December 30th in Bangladesh. The country’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, and her party won for the third time.

The losing party denounced the result of the election and said that the election was rigged. The prime minister said that this was not true.

There were fights in the streets during the election. People who liked one party fought people who liked the other party. At least 17 people died.

Difficult words: election (when people elect/vote/choose the bosses of their country), denounce (say that you do not respect the result of something), rig (manipulate, control, fake).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
