Fast chips – level 2

22-03-2024 07:00

Nvidia showed off a new AI chip, the B200, which is very fast and powerful.

This happened at a big meeting for developers in California. The company’s boss, Jensen Huang, said that this chip is much better than the old ones and it can be 30 times faster. Nvidia also made new software to help people sell AI better. Even though these are big news, Nvidia’s shares went down a little bit after the announcement.

The company is also starting to sell complete systems instead of just chips. This change comes because other companies start to make their chips, which could challenge Nvidia. Still, Nvidia is trying to stay ahead in the technology market by making its products better and working with big companies.

Difficult words: share (one of the parts of a company), announcement (a public or formal statement about something important), challenge (to test someone’s skills or abilities).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What is Nvidia's strategy for staying ahead in the technology market and why did their shares go down after showing off their new AI chip, the B200, at a big developer's meeting?
