Police in Finland reported a shooting at Viertola school in Vantaa near the capital Helsinki.

The shooting occurred at a primary school with about 800 students. The incident happened in the morning, shortly after classes resumed following the Easter holidays. The police responded swiftly, detained the suspect, and confiscated the firearm. Police confirmed one fatality, and described it as a tragic event. The Finnish Prime Minister expressed shock and sympathy for the victims and their families.

Currently, police believe there are no other suspects. Sadly, one of the injured individuals has died. The other two are in critical condition. The situation is still developing, and updates will follow.

Difficult words: confiscate (to take someone’s property with authority), fatality (death by accident, in war, or from disease).
