Fire in Manila – level 2

23-03-2018 07:00

In Manila, Philippines, a fire killed four people and trapped others at a hotel and casino complex. Over 300 guests had to evacuate with helicopters helping them.

One woman said that she heard that the fire started at the ground floor and then it quickly progressed.

Police said that it was unclear if the fire started in the casino or if it started in an area that was under construction.

Difficult words: complex (a group of buildings that are part of one larger place), evacuate (leave a place for safety), progress (move or grow).
