Fortress in Libya – level 1
Archaeologists discover a fortress. They discover it in the Libyan desert. It is around 109 kilometres from Benghazi. The fortress is called the ‘Kerdsai Fortress’. It is almost 2,000 years old.
It is a Roman fortress. It protected a Roman road. There is a palace a mile from the fortress. It is not Roman. Archaeologists do not know this type of building.
Difficult words: archaeologist (a person who studies human history), discover (find), fortress (a big building with soldiers), protected (past of ‘protect’).
