France talks about a new tax for very rich people. It is a 2% tax on people with more than 100 million euros. About 1,800 people in France would pay this tax.

Supporters say that it is fair. It gives more money for schools, hospitals, and the army. They say that the tax can bring 20 billion euros in France and even more in Europe. Critics do not like the idea. They think that rich people may stop investing or try not to pay.

Some countries already have a tax like this, for example, Spain, Norway, and Switzerland. In France, the old tax ends in 2018, but people still pay a tax on houses and land.

Difficult words: tax (money people must pay to the government), supporter (a person who likes an idea), critic (a person who says what is bad or wrong about something).
