Gaza ceasefire – level 2

14-10-2025 07:00

The fighting between Israel and Hamas stopped after a new ceasefire began in Gaza. Thousands of Palestinians are walking back to their homes, but many towns are broken and full of ruins.

Israel still controls part of Gaza. According to the deal, Hamas must let 20 Israeli hostages go and return 28 bodies. In return, Israel must free 250 prisoners and 1,700 people taken during the war.

This deal is only the first part of a bigger plan to rebuild Gaza and decide who will lead it. People in Israel and Gaza hope for peace, but there are still many problems. Officials must solve them before life can return to normal.

Difficult words: ceasefire (time when a war stops), ruin (what remains of a broken building), hostage (a person who is not free and who must do what somebody else says).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What releases must Hamas and Israel carry out under the ceasefire deal?
