Girl stops a kidnapper – level 2

In Florida, US, a man tried to kidnap an 11-year old girl. A video camera recorded her when she played in grass next to a road as she waited for the school bus. A white car drove by her, and then it came back.

The man came out of the car and tried to take her to the car. She kicked him. They both fell down. She put a blue color on him during the fight. Then they both ran away from each other. Later on, the police found him by following the license plate on his car, and they saw the blue color on his arms.

The girl said that she learned from a TV show that you need to leave evidence to help catch a criminal.

Difficult words: kidnap (to take somebody away illegally), threaten (to say you will hurt or kill someone), license plate (the numbers on a car which identify that car), evidence (information).
