Hate crime in Australia – level 2

09-12-2015 07:00

In Sydney, Australia, two men attacked another man outside a gay club. They kicked the victim and shot him four times but he survived.

The incident took place in May, 2013, and a security camera filmed it. People made the video public after they showed it in court. Lawyers charged one suspect with attempted murder.

Difficult words: victim (somebody who is attacked), charge (to say officially that somebody did something wrong), suspect (somebody who committed a crime), attempted murder (trying to kill somebody).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
