India cyclone – level 1
A cyclone is a big storm. It starts over warm oceans. It moves quickly. It rotates around its center.
Cyclone Tauktae hits western India. It brings heavy rains. The wind is very strong. Its speed is almost 160 kmph. The storm destroys buildings. Hundreds of thousands of people must leave their homes. These people stay in shelters.
A second wave of the coronavirus also hits India. Hospitals are full. The situation is very serious. Officials worry. Many people are in the shelters. They can catch the coronavirus easily there.
Difficult words: rotate (to turn in a circle), speed (how fast something is), shelter (a place where people are safe when something dangerous is happening).
