Levi’s wants to sell more Blue Tab jeans – level 2
17-11-2025 15:00
Levi’s will sell 300-dollar Blue Tab jeans in more stores next year because many people want expensive denim.
The Blue Tab line started in Asia and some stores in Europe and the US. It uses strong Japanese denim that is thicker and lasts longer. Blue Tab jeans cost much more than regular Red Tab jeans, 130 euros compared to 300 euros. Jackets are also expensive; they can cost up to 700 euros. Premium jeans are a small part of the market but grow faster than other jeans. Levi’s wants to sell to more women and make more types of clothes.
Collaborations with other brands like Nike help sales. The company expects good sales during the holidays and will give fewer discounts. Levi’s may buy other brands to grow faster. The plan also includes new designs for men and women next year.
Difficult words: denim (a strong fabric used to make jeans and jackets), premium (of high quality), collaboration (working together).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Which characteristics of the Japanese denim used in the Blue Tab line justify its higher price compared to Red Tab jeans?
