You find a magic potion. If you drink it, you will live forever. You cannot get sick, and your body will stay the same age.

Some people think that this is very good. You can do many things, travel, and still learn something new. You never need to be afraid of death. But some people think that it is not good. Bernard Williams says that life can get boring if you repeat the same things for many years. Samuel Scheffler says that life is special because it is short. When we know that time is not forever, we choose what is important. With no end, life may lose meaning. Living forever can be both happy and sad.

Difficult words: magic (special power which changes things in a way which we cannot explain), potion (a drink with special power, often in stories), meaning (important quality why we do things).
