London’s Moped Thieves – level 3

28-11-2018 15:00

Moped thieves have long been the scourge of London’s pedestrians and motorists – they move fast and hope that the police will not engage in a potentially dangerous chase.

The Metropolitan Police in London, however, have instructed the officers to assess the dangers of each situation individually and ram the thieves. Police released dash cam footage showing the tougher tactics against the criminals.

Difficult words: scourge (something which causes great trouble), pedestrian (a person who is walking), assess (judge, think about), ram (hit), dash cam (a camera on the dashboard – the area in the car in front of the driver), footage (a video).
