Madonna invited Vogue into her home in London to show her favorite personal objects. She began with a self-portrait by Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, which she dreamed of owning when she first moved to New York.

She also shared sentimental family items, such as her mother’s wooden rosary, a sculpture made by her son Rocco, and a soft blanket crocheted by her daughter Esther. In her living room, she showed another powerful painting by Frida Kahlo about mother-child connections.

Finally, in her bedroom, Madonna showed two special first-edition books and a plush octopus named Octavia. She explained that the octopus helps her remember a kind nurse who looked after her while she was very sick in the hospital.
